I’m a freelance illustrator born, raised and currently living outside of Grand Rapids, MI. I discovered my gift at age six and have been happily pursuing it ever since.

After graduation from Michigan State University with a BFA in Studio Art in 1980, I found my niche in creating children’s art while working with many licensed characters from Disney, Warner Bros, American Greetings and others as a staff artist at a children’s apparel company, then as a freelance illustrator in children’s publishing where I’ve served many clients in the US and abroad. I've created artwork for many award winning educational books, picture books and youth fiction publishing projects.

Acrylics and gouache were my media at first, but for the past twenty five years I’ve been working digitally in Photoshop and Illustrator on the Macintosh.

I’ve been an avid woodworker whose built Arts and Crafts style furniture, and acoustic guitars as a hobby. I enjoy recreational activities like long distance cycling, golf and slow pitch softball, and love walking my ten year old chocolate lab Guinness in the nearby woods and fields. I also attend Calvary Undenominational Church and am a passionate student of the Bible.
